Lecturer – Maths
Evening, Permanent (3 hours)
Salary: £43,402- £52,247 per annum pro rata (Candidates holding TQFE will commence on £50,036 per annum pro rata.)
The successful candidate will teach Higher Maths one evening per week (3 hours) in person.
You will Teach students according to their particular needs, including the planning, preparation and assessment of work and manage the use of materials provided for students.
Duties include:
- Contribute to department meetings and discussions
- Contribute to the development of the subject throughout the college and help to write and amend schemes of work.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current developments in teaching and learning
- Be aware of, and work within, relevant Health and Safety regulations
- Mark class attendance registers
- Participate in appropriate meetings with colleagues and students relative to the above duties and responsibilities
- Monitor and support the individual academic, social and personal development of the learners.
- Provide a well-ordered, interesting and informative lesson and motivated and inspire learners.
- Create and maintain interactive learning materials on the VLE
- Write and mark formative and summative assessment materials including Prelims.
- When not required to teach (e.g. May & June) we may require you to create maths materials or deliver alternative maths courses.
The ideal candidate will possess a relevant Degree Level Qualification or equivalent or demonstrable experience, coupled with recent and relevant vocational experience. A TQFE (or equivalent) is desirable. The successful candidate will have excellent IT skills (with a working knowledge of MS Office), good communication skills, and have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively. Previous teaching experience is desirable but not essential.
