Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Production Manager to oversee our Plastic Recycling Facility operating 24/7 producing up to 75,000 tonnes of plastic across 4 PRF teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a comprehensive understanding of process optimisation. The Production Manager will play a pivotal role in coordinating cross-functional teams to meet production targets while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily production activities to ensure operational efficiency and meet production schedules ensuring they operate in accordance with legislation, company policies and procedures.
- Plan, organise and control operations through effective management guaranteeing financial performance and profitability.
- Management of safety and environmental requirements at all sites is of paramount importance and compliance with all applicable legislation.
- Managing performance through effective people and resource management.
- Reporting against KPIs and meeting financial budget requirements.
- Responsibility for the continual training and development of multi-disciplined staff on site and to set appropriate targets that deliver continual improvements.
- Manage a team of supervisors, team leaders and operators, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Hands-on approach to managing both the process and operatives.
- Analyse production data to identify areas for process improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Lead, champion and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all manufacturing activities.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in a production management role essential
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand machinery operation and troubleshooting.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Leadership qualities with strong communication skills to motivate teams and coordinate cross-departmental activities.
- Competent in Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent Report Writing skills
- Full UK Driving licence
Preferred Requirements
- Previous experience in waste management operations
- Demonstrable expertise in process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data for decision-making purposes.
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, manufacturing technology or related fields are preferred but not essential.
Pay: £40,000.00-£46,000.00 per year
