About the Role
Construo Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading housing provider to recruit a Large Project Surveyor.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering asset investment and capital works programmes across a residential portfolio. Reporting to the Asset Investment Manager, you will be responsible for surveying properties, overseeing projects on site, and ensuring works are completed safely, compliantly, and to a high standard.
You will act as the client representative on site, working closely with contractors, residents, and internal teams to help maintain and improve homes.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out building and condition surveys across residential properties
Undertake inspections relating to disrepair, Right to Buy, mutual exchange, and buy-back schemes
Identify defects and produce reports with costings and practical recommendations
Manage capital works and asset investment projects from planning through to completion
Monitor contractor performance, site progress, quality, and compliance
Prepare specifications, estimates, and technical reports
Certify contractor payments and valuations
Ensure all works meet building regulations, CDM requirements, and health & safety standards
Respond to resident and stakeholder enquiries professionally and efficiently
Requirements
Previous experience in a Building Surveying role
Strong technical knowledge of construction, maintenance, and defect diagnosis
Background in housing, asset management, or capital projects
Experience managing contractors and overseeing live site works
Good understanding of compliance, health & safety, and relevant legislation
Organised and commercially aware, with a focus on value for money
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Full UK driving licence
