Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Turret Punch Setter Operator to join our manufacturing team a fork lift truck licence would be a advantage,hours of work 14:00 till 21:45.The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating turret punch presses to produce precise sheet metal components. This role requires a good understanding of fabrication processes, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail to ensure high-quality output. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in sheet metal work and mechanical skills to develop their expertise within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust turret punch machines according to specifications and production requirements
- Operate turret punch presses efficiently while maintaining safety standards
- Monitor machine operation during production runs, making adjustments as necessary
- Perform routine maintenance, including grinding and tooling changes, to ensure optimal machine performance
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all safety protocols are followed
- Assist with assembly processes when required, supporting overall production flow
- Keep detailed records of machine settings, adjustments, and production data for quality control purposes
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fabrication, sheet metal work, or similar manufacturing roles
- Knowledge of grinding, welding, and mechanical systems is advantageous
- Familiarity with hand tools and tooling used in metalworking environments
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks
- Strong understanding of sheet metal properties and handling techniques
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions accurately
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail and quality assurance
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively
