We’re looking for a temporary Head Housekeeper to step in and lead, inspire, and deliver excellence during a short term absence cover period.
Location: Leicester LE1
Reports to: Operations Manager
Responsible for: Housekeeping Team
Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: 5 days a week
Pay Rate: £17.06 per hour
Please note - This is a temporary cover role for 3 months to commence 13th June 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop your team to achieve operational and client service excellence
- Manage daily housekeeping operations, including stock, linen, equipment, and workflows
- Maintain health, safety, and compliance standards
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
- Monitor performance, manage budgets, and optimise cost efficiencies
- Recruit, train, and coach team members, recognising and developing talent
- Conduct regular room inspections to maintain quality and drive continuous improvement
- Support business needs by providing site expertise, attending meetings, and preparing reports
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Head Housekeeper, Deputy Head Housekeeper, or Senior Supervisor in a hotel environment
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and IT skills
- Experience managing budgets, KPIs, and operational performance
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and compliance standards
- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt to change, and maintain a positive attitude
