About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with extensive knowledge of drainage infrastructure and Civil Engineering projects and strong working knowledge of NEC4 contracts.
The successful candidate will provide commercial and contractual management across drainage and civil engineering projects. They will work closely with project managers, engineers, planners, clients, contractors and supply-chain partners to ensure projects are delivered within budget, contractual obligations are met and commercial risks are effectively controlled.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of drainage and wastewater projects from pre-construction through to final account.
- Administer NEC4 contracts, particularly the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC), in accordance with the contract’s timescales and procedures.
- Preparing and assessing valuations, payment applications and final accounts.
- Managing subcontractor procurement, payments and commercial performance.
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
- Assessing the cost and programme impact of changes.
- Attending project and commercial meetings.
- Strong practical knowledge of NEC4 contracts, particularly the NEC4 ECC.
- Work within highways, urban environments and operational utility sites.
- Demonstrable experience managing early warnings and compensation events.
- Procure subcontractors, suppliers and specialist packages, including preparing enquiries, analysing tenders and negotiating commercial terms.
