Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Apprentice to support our early childhood education team. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their management and childcare skills within a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will assist with daily nursery activities, engage with children, and gain valuable experience in early years education and management practices, whilst gaining a qualification in Early Years
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of high-quality childcare and educational activities tailored to children's developmental needs
- Assist senior staff in organising and supervising play sessions, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment
- Engage with children through play, conversation, and educational activities to promote their social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Help maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming nursery setting in line with health and safety regulations
- Support with administrative tasks such as record keeping and preparing learning materials
- Contribute to behaviour management strategies under supervision, fostering positive behaviour and communication skills among children
- Assist with organising outings or activities that promote learning outside the nursery setting
- Develop leadership skills by taking on delegated responsibilities and working collaboratively within the team
Requirements
- Genuine interest in working with children and supporting their early development
- Previous nursery experience or early childhood education qualifications are advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and team members
- Organised, responsible, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work well as part of a team in a caring and professional manner
