Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Kitchen Team Leader to oversee daily kitchen operations within our busy hospitality environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and safety standards are maintained, and fostering a positive team atmosphere. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, providing clear direction and support to ensure efficient workflow
- Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared to high standards of quality and presentation
- Manage food safety protocols, including hygiene standards and allergen control measures
- Coordinate daily kitchen activities, including meal preparation, cooking, and serving processes
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, supporting team members during busy periods
- Maintain organisation of kitchen supplies, stock levels, and equipment maintenance
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Foster a positive team environment through effective communication and leadership
- Support training and development of junior staff members to enhance their skills
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Japanese kitchen environment - Desirable
- Experience in a supervisory or team leader role preferred
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, ingredients, and kitchen techniques- Desirable
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Understanding of food hygiene and health & safety regulations
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Preferred Skills
- Knife handling and food presentation skills
- Ability to manage kitchen workflow efficiently
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (preferred)
