We are a small run family business specialising in exporting cargo from the UK to the Caribbean Islands and have been in business since 2009.
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Driver/ Warehouse worker to join our small team.
The suitable candidate will be responsible for collecting cargo from customer's homes and businesses and assisting with general warehouse duties, including with loading and unloading the van, maintaining warehouse operations, cargo handling, labelling, palletising, measuring and getting cargo ready for shipments.
This role requires a strong attention to detail, a proven record of excellent customer service skills and the ability to perform heavy lifting as well as operate various warehouse equipment.
The right candidate will be an honest, contentious and reliable person with some warehouse and driving experience and a full, clean driving license. A forklift license is also desirable.
Duties
- Delivering and collecting cargo as per daily job sheets - this requires timely start and knowledge and effective use of Highway Code and effective planning of route.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and efficiently.
- Manage inventory.
- Perform materials handling tasks including loading and unloading goods from vans.
- Execute picking & packing duties to prepare orders for shipment.
- Assist in shipping processes, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organised warehouse environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow within the warehouse.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred, with a good understanding of warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with driving within London and surrounding areas.
- Strong materials handling skills, including experience with heavy lifting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- A valid driver's licence is required for driving duties associated with this role.
