The Welsh Cheese Company is proud to champion the very best artisan cheeses made in Wales. We're looking for a new deli team member to work in our deli/ cheese & wine bar in Victoria Park, Cardiff.
The Role
As a Deli Team Member, you’ll be at the heart of our new shop – welcoming customers, preparing beautiful cheeseboards & deli dishes, serving drinks and helping create a relaxed and memorable experience in both our daytime shop and evening wine bar.
This is a part-time role, offering between 12 and 32 hours per week, and will be primarily (but not exclusively) evening and weekend shifts. You will also be required to work occasional shifts at our Taffs Well location (which has good public transport links).
Key Responsibilities
- Serving customers behind our cheese counter
- Sharing your knowledge of Welsh cheeses and products (training provided)
- Preparing exceptional cheeseboards and other cold platters for eat-in customers
- Serving wine and other drinks to customers
- Assisting with stock rotation, cleaning and general shop duties
- Assisting in planning and delivering events and tastings
- Occasionally opening and closing the shop
- Occasionally running the shop single-handedly
What We're Looking For
- At least 1 year of experience in a deli or wine bar setting is highly desirable
- Welsh language skills are highly desirable
- A friendly, customer-focused approach
- Self-motivated, dependable and proactive
- Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation
- A love of great food and interest in Welsh produce

Hours
12–32 hours per week
We're happy to be flexible on hours for the right candidate. Whether you're looking for around 12 hours or closer to 32 hours per week, we'd love to hear from you.
