Caretaker / Maintenance Manager
Full Time | Multi-Site Role | East London
Salary: £40,000–£42,000 per annum
We're an independent hospitality group behind some of East London's most loved neighbourhood destinations, including The Duke, The Leytonstone Tavern and East London Brewing Company.
We're looking for a skilled, reliable and proactive Caretaker / Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our venues, ensuring our pubs, brewery and hospitality spaces remain safe, compliant and looking their best.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys problem-solving and can work independently across multiple sites.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and presentation of our venues, responding to maintenance issues quickly and effectively while helping deliver planned improvements and projects.
Responsibilities include:
- General building maintenance and repairs across multiple sites
- Basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating and electrical maintenance
- Identifying and resolving maintenance issues before they become larger problems
- Managing reactive repairs and planned maintenance schedules
- Liaising with external contractors where specialist work is required
- Maintaining health and safety standards across all venues
- Supporting venue managers with maintenance requests and building improvements
- Monitoring and maintaining equipment, fixtures and fittings
- Ensuring all sites remain clean, safe and operational
What We're Looking For
✔ Previous experience in a maintenance, caretaker, facilities or property management role
✔ Strong practical skills across general maintenance trades
✔ Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
✔ Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
✔ Good communication skills and a professional approach
✔ Flexible attitude and willingness to travel between sites
✔ Full UK Driving Licence
✔ Own van and tools (essential)
✔ Experience working within hospitality, retail or commercial properties desirable
