We seek a statistician to join the Inequalities in Cancer Outcome Network (ICON) on an NIHR-funded Better Methods, Better Research (BMBR) project developing the Multiple imputation framework for missing data. This collaboration with University of Warwick, aims to improve multiple imputation methods using complex real-world healthcare data to support research findings and improve understanding of cancer care and patient journeys. The postholder will be based within ICON, a research group providing evidence and developing strategies to reduce inequalities in cancer care and cancer outcomes. The post holder will work with other statisticians and epidemiologists on the research and contribute to the preparation of manuscripts.
The successful candidate will have a postgraduate, ideally doctoral degree in medical statistics or a relevant field and proven biostatistics research and methodological development experience. Candidates will need to have significant experience programming statistical methods, preferably in R, as well as experience handling missing data using methods such as multiple imputation. Candidates will ideally have experience of using tools for collaborative and reproducible research (e.g., GitHub, Overleaf), and in simulating complex data.
The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed term until 31 December 2028.
The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £45,728 - £51,872 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
