Our company is seeking a trainee NDT technician to join a 3-shift rota completing industrial radiography on castings, welds and forgings. You will be working alongside experienced technicians in a hands on learning environment. It would be highly advantageous if the candidate has experience and/or qualifications in RT.
Responsibilities:
- Completing routine safety checks
- RT inspection of forgings, castings and welds working to procedures and customer specifications.
- Work in accordance with company procedures and work instructions ensuring routine checks and calibrations are completed
- Check product on receipt for identification, condition, and conformity
- Manual Handling
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to use own initiative
- Operation of company FLT's, overhead cranes and other lifting equipment
- Handle test items with care and maintain identification and traceability
- Assess and reduce risks daily by following safety and environmental controls.
- Actively contribute to continual improvement through feedback and observation.
Salary dependent on qualifications and experience.
Shifts are as follows:
- Days 6am - 2pm (Monday - Friday)
- Afternoons - 2pm - 10pm (Monday - Friday)
- Nights - 10pm - 6am (Sunday - Thursday)
(Shift bonus for night shift)
Overtime available on an ad-hoc basis.
