Nestled in the heart of York, our wellbeing and fitness club is dedicated to helping our members achieve balance, strength, and vitality through movement. We combine boutique-studio atmosphere with expert-led classes, and we're looking for an experienced Reformer Pilates Instructor to bring energy, precision, and innovation to our studio floor.
The Role
We're seeking a skilled and passionate Reformer Pilates Instructor with at least 18 months of teaching experience to join our growing team. You'll design and deliver dynamic, results-driven reformer classes that challenge our members, support their goals, and keep them coming back for more. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves pushing creative boundaries within their practice while maintaining exceptional technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, safe, and effective reformer Pilates classes for members of varying fitness levels and experience
- Develop innovative, progressive routines and sequences that keep classes fresh, motivating, and aligned with current best practice in Pilates methodology
- Provide hands-on and verbal cueing to ensure correct form, alignment, and injury prevention
- Conduct new member inductions and one-to-one sessions where required
- Build genuine relationships with members, creating a welcoming and inclusive studio community
- Monitor and adapt programming based on member feedback, progress, and goals
- Maintain reformer equipment and studio space to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety
- Stay current with industry trends, techniques, and continuing education opportunities
- Support studio initiatives, promotions, and events as needed
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 18 months' experience teaching Reformer Pilates (essential)
- Recognised Pilates instructor qualification (e.g. Level 3 Mat/Reformer Pilates, STOTT, BASI, Polestar, or equivalent)
- Proven ability to design creative, varied, and challenging class formats
- Excellent communication and motivational skills, with a warm and approachable teaching style
- Strong understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, and injury modification
- A genuine passion for health, wellbeing, and helping others achieve their goals
- Professional, reliable, and punctual, with a polished studio presence
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with additional formats (barre, mat Pilates, small group training) is a bonus
