We have a team of over 20 enthusiastic accountants providing a complete accounting and taxation service to owner managed businesses. Our clients are based predominantly in Sussex though some are further afield. More details about us can be found on our website.
This full time position is open to a forward thinking, proactive individual with an eagerness to continue learning and developing your payroll career You will be given a great amount of responsibility from day one, so the successful individual will be confident in processing payroll and auto-enrolment pension contributions from start to finish as well as comfortable in liaising directly with clients and colleagues. The accountancy firm currently use Sage payroll software, experience using this package is highly desirable but not essential.
Areas of responsibilities:
- Preparing up to c150 client payrolls ranging in size
- Dealing with starters, leavers, SSP, SMP, SPP, Pension auto-enrolment contributions and various other deductions as and when required.
- Year-end processes
- Calculating Holiday Entitlement/Pay
- You'll liaise directly with clients to obtain information and provide advice and solutions where necessary
- You'll complete and submit BACS/Pension-enrolment forms
- Submit all required information to HMRC
We're looking for someone who:
- Has 2 ‘A’ levels with grades in the band A – C and 5 GCSEs including Maths & English with grades in the band 9 to 5 (A* to C).
- Has good analytical skills
- Has good numerical, written and keyboard skills
- Is a good verbal and written communicator
- Is an experienced user of Excel & Word
- Is organised and efficient
- Wants to be an active member of the team
- Has a willingness to learn
- Is a great listener and communicator
- Can spin multiple plates (we have lots of things going on at once), and
- Will pitch in and be flexible.
