Are you a highly organised, proactive administrator who thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment?
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Central Rail Systems Alliance Eastern Region as a Team Organiser, playing a vital role in keeping operational teams connected, supported and running smoothly.
As the first point of contact for many day-to-day activities, you’ll be at the heart of the team — coordinating diaries, supporting meetings, arranging travel, maintaining key records and helping colleagues access the tools, systems and information they need to deliver successfully.
This role is based in Aston, Birmingham.
What you'll be doing
- Providing high-quality business and administrative support to the Central Rail Systems Alliance Eastern Region.
- Managing office administration, including mail, diary coordination, personnel records and asset records.
- Supporting new starters by arranging system access, IT equipment, travel, vehicles, fuel cards and permits where required.
- Organising meetings, preparing and sharing documentation, taking minutes and following up actions.
- Providing a professional telephone presence and delivering excellent customer service on behalf of the team.
- Maintaining efficient filing systems and keeping key records accurate and up to date.
- Using financial and procurement systems to order stationery, consumables and site-based equipment, plant or materials.
- Helping resolve team issues, including IT and office facilities queries, and monitoring progress through to completion.
- Coordinating on-call packs, timesheets and other administrative tasks as directed.
Who we're looking for
You’ll be someone who enjoys bringing order, pace and professionalism to a busy team environment. You’ll be confident juggling priorities, communicating clearly and building positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Previous experience in a similar administrative or team support role.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project-related packages.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- The ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in a pressurised environment.
Desirable experience:
- knowledge of the rail industry
- recognised qualification in administration or office management
