Job Introduction
We are looking to recruit three Principal Accountancy Assistants in Financial Services to join our busy and friendly accountancy team.
Two posts will be responsible for monitoring a range of income and expenditure budgets and providing financial advice and support to a number of budget holders. One post will be in the Adult Social Care team and the other is in the Housing and Assets team (Corporate Landlord services, Planning, Housing Enforcement and Regulation).
The third post will be in the central accountancy team providing financial ledger support and system maintenance and fixed asset accounting.
These are full-time permanent roles at Grade 8 (£35,412 to £38,220), pay award due from April 2026. Part time hours will be considered.
You will have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s Grade C or above including Maths and English, and you will have, or be in the final stages of completing, the AAT qualification, or equivalent
You will be able to use PC based information technology and have a good working knowledge of spreadsheets, preferably Excel. We are looking for candidates who have good verbal, numerical reasoning and written communication skills, with the ability to produce accurate numeric work.
You will be working flexibly in our offices in central Dudley or from home on a hybrid working basis and will benefit from the Council’s flexitime scheme.
