About the role:
We are an ambitious and growing agency looking to invest in the right people to support our continued success. As an Account Executive, you will take ownership of a portfolio of commercial clients, building strong, long-term relationships and delivering high-quality, tailored insurance solutions.
This is a client-facing and commercially focused role, where you will act as a trusted adviser to your clients, understanding their businesses and ensuring they have the right protection in place as their needs evolve. You will be responsible for managing renewals, overseeing policy changes and providing guidance across a varied portfolio of risks.
Alongside managing existing relationships, you will play a key role in driving growth by identifying and converting new business opportunities. You will work closely with colleagues and NFU Mutual underwriters to structure competitive and appropriate insurance solutions, maintaining high standards of compliance and customer outcomes at all times.
This role would suit an individual who enjoys balancing relationship management with business development, and who is motivated to take ownership of their portfolio and contribute meaningfully to the agency’s growth. In return, you will benefit from full training, ongoing professional development and the support of a collaborative and well-established team. Commercial insurance experience is highly desirable.
This role offers the opportunity to further develop into senior client management or leadership roles.
- Manage and develop your own portfolio of commercial clients, acting as their primary point of contact
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers, providing trusted advice and support
- Proactively identify, develop and convert new business opportunities to support agency growth targets
- Lead renewal processes, including reviewing cover, identifying gaps and presenting suitable solutions to clients
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell the full range of NFU Mutual products, including Financial Services and Risk Management Services
- Support client retention through proactive engagement and high-quality relationship management
- Maintain accurate, compliant and up-to-date client records using CRM systems
- Contribute to the Agency’s overall growth, retention and reputation through professional and ethical conduct
About you:
- Experience in insurance, financial services or a client-facing advisory role
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and develop business opportunities
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships at decision-maker level
- Commercial insurance experience highly desirable
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Organised, proactive and comfortable managing your own client portfolio
- High attention to detail and good IT skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
