ABLE Steelwork & Metalwork Ltd is looking for an experienced Skilled Site Operative to join our growing installation team.
We specialise in the installation of structural steelwork and high-quality architectural metalwork across commercial, industrial and residential projects.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated individual with a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship safely.
All of our projects are located within approximately 50 miles of Newbury, meaning you'll be home every evening.
The Role
Working as part of our installation team, you will be responsible for installing a variety of structural steel and architectural metalwork on construction sites, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Installation of structural steelwork to engineering drawings.
Installation of architectural metalwork including:
Staircases
Balustrades
Handrails
Secondary steelwork
Bespoke metalwork
Reading and interpreting fabrication and GA drawings.
Working safely at height using appropriate access equipment.
Using power tools and specialist installation equipment.
Liaising professionally with site managers, contractors and clients.
Maintaining high standards of workmanship and site housekeeping.
Completing work in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
Essential Requirements
Proven experience installing structural steelwork.
Experience installing architectural metalwork.
Ability to read engineering and fabrication drawings.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Excellent understanding of safe working practices.
Reliable, punctual and professional.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Qualifications
CSCS Card.
IPAF Licence.
PASMA Licence.
CPCS/NPORS Telehandler or Slinger Signaller.
MEWP experience.
SSTS or SMSTS.
First Aid at Work.
Welding or fabrication experience (advantageous but not essential).
