Dragon WiFi provides fibre, fixed wireless, satellite and mobile connectivity to over 3,000 customers across Wales and South West England. Customers include rural businesses, holiday parks and public sector organisations including Welsh Government and Transport for Wales. We are a Peplink Partner, Starlink installer and Crown Commercial Service supplier. We are an innovative team.
The role
Engineering work across customer installations and internal systems. Jobs are assigned to you from survey through to handover and you are responsible for seeing them through.
- Install, configure and commission routers, switches, access points and PtP/PtMP links
- Site surveys and WiFi design for commercial and hospitality sites
- Second and third-line fault diagnosis, from customer premises to core network
- Work on Starlink, SD-WAN, private 5G, LoRaWAN and IoT deployments
- Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams and asset records
- Out-of-hours support rota
Requirements
- Experience in an IT engineering or network support role
- IP networking: routing, switching, VLANs, subnetting, DHCP and DNS
- Practical wireless configuration and troubleshooting
- Methodical fault-finding and the ability to work unsupervised on site
- A record of completing assigned work without needing to be chased. We are a small team and unfinished jobs return as callouts.
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Vendor certifications (Cisco, Ubiquiti, Cambium, Peplink, MikroTik, CompTIA or equivalent)
- Fixed wireless or satellite experience; RF planning and link budgeting
