Severn Trading Limited is a growing company specialising in modular buildings, transport, site accommodation, and nationwide project support. As our business continues to expand, we are looking for an experienced and organised Accounts Manager / Bookkeeper to join our office team.

The Role
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial administration of the business, ensuring accurate financial records are maintained and supporting the wider management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing purchase invoices and sales invoices
- Credit control and chasing outstanding payments
- Bank reconciliations
- Posting receipts and payments
- Managing supplier statements
- Preparing payment runs
- Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records
- VAT returns
- Assisting with month-end procedures
- Payroll support (experience beneficial but not essential)
- Maintaining customer and supplier accounts
- Producing financial reports for management
- General office administration as required
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous bookkeeping or accounts experience
- Good knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts (or similar accounting software)
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Competent using Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
- Professional telephone manner
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Payroll experience
- AAT qualification (or working towards)
- Experience within construction, transport or plant hire industries
- CIS knowledge
- Experience with VAT returns
