Northwest Women in STEM is recruiting Science Communicators to help make STEM more accessible, inspiring and engaging for everyone.
Whether you're a student, researcher, engineer, clinician or work in industry, we'd love you to create three short videos explaining your area of expertise.
- No fancy equipment.
- No influencer experience.
- Just your passion for science.
Your videos could inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators.

Job Summary

About Us
Northwest Women in STEM is a Community Interest Company dedicated to engaging, educating and empowering women and girls across the North West through inclusive STEM activities, outreach and community events.
We're looking for enthusiastic Science Communicators to help make STEM accessible through short-form video content.
The Role
We're inviting volunteers to create three engaging videos (up to 60 seconds each) explaining an area of STEM they're passionate about.
No previous content creation experience is necessary—just enthusiasm and a willingness to share your knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Create three short vertical videos
- Explain scientific concepts in an engaging and accessible way
- Inspire young people and underrepresented communities to explore STEM
- Submit videos electronically for editing and publication
We're Looking For
- A passion for STEM
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to explain complex ideas simply
- Enthusiasm for inspiring others
- Students, researchers, engineers, healthcare professionals, technicians and industry professionals are all encouraged to apply
Desirable
- Previous outreach or public engagement experience
- Confidence speaking to camera
- Interest in science communication
