As the Junior Buyer you will be responsible for the sourcing a range of products and commodities. Your duties include Day to Day Purchasing, supporting the Customer sales Team and other functions whilst consistently controlling costs. A Key element is maintaining and building relationships with existing and new suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Work Closely with Purchasing and Planning Manager and Co-Ordinator ensuring that all purchases support a dynamic Production Plan.
- Reviews Sales Estimates and Monitor Estimated Cost vs Actual Cost.
- Sent RFQ’s (Request for Quotation), Create Purchase orders, communicate with suppliers to achieve commercial advantage.
- Ensures Practices support compliance with all relevant standards and regulations as well as all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain system Data Integratory to support accurate information consistently.
- Work with suppliers to provide forecasts ensuring raw material is available OTIF. (On Time in Full)
- Management of keys suppliers for various commodities.
- Driving cost reduction on supplier spends through negotiation
- Support all commercial aspects within Purchasing environment including New Product Introductions.
- Effectively partner with key stakeholders to understand the business requirements, align on goals and drive sourcing initiatives.
- Identify opportunities and drive sourcing initiatives that generate value and cost efficiencies.
- Stay abreast on market trends. Gains insight into industry best practices and procedures as well as benchmark best practices for category management.
- Review and resolve any discrepancies with supplier invoices,
- Support other functions with grievances, claims, conflicts, product non-conformance or quality issues.
- Provide timely feedback and report progress on a monthly basis (including purchasing reports and rolling forecasts)
- Communicate, practice and promote the values, ethics and culture of Harrison Packaging
- Any other duties that can be reasonably expected of the role
