We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in transport and logistics who can confidently plan and coordinate daily transport operations in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily vehicle routes and deliveries
- Allocate drivers and vehicles efficiently to meet operational requirements
- Monitor routes throughout the day and respond to delays or changes
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers and internal teams
- Ensure vehicles are utilised efficiently while keeping empty mileage to a minimum
- Maintain accurate transport records and update relevant systems
- Ensure operations comply with drivers' hours, Working Time Directive and other relevant transport legislation
- Deal with day-to-day operational issues quickly and professionally
- Support the wider transport team in achieving service and performance targets
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Transport Planner or in a similar transport/logistics planning role is essential
- Strong geographical and route-planning knowledge
- Good understanding of transport legislation and drivers' hours
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities
- Confident communicator with a professional approach
- Good IT skills and experience using transport planning or management systems
- A proactive, reliable and team-focused attitude

Salary: Salary £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
