Overview
Ryders Chemist is looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Medicine Counter Assistant to join our pharmacy team in Formby.
You will play an important role in supporting our customers, providing helpful advice on over-the-counter medicines and healthcare products, and ensuring the medicine counter remains safe, organised and welcoming.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your pharmacy knowledge and customer-service skills while making a positive difference to the health of the local community.
Duties
- Welcome customers and help them find suitable over-the-counter medicines and healthcare products
- Provide appropriate information about the use, storage and safety of medicines within your level of training
- Refer customers to the pharmacist whenever further professional advice is required
- Support the pharmacist and pharmacy team with stock replenishment, inventory checks and organisation
- Follow all procedures relating to the safe handling and storage of medicines
- Maintain a clean, tidy and well-organised medicine counter
- Process customer transactions accurately at the till
- Handle customer and patient information confidentially and professionally
- Deliver friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times
Experience and Skills
- Previous pharmacy or medicine-counter experience is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided
- Friendly and confident communication skills
- A genuine commitment to customer service and patient care
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work accurately in a busy environment
- Reliable, professional and able to work effectively as part of a team
