Working closely alongside our Group Sustainability Manager, you’ll employ your analytic skills and problem-solving ability to support environmental compliance, carbon reporting and continuous improvement across the group.

Manage the collection, validation and analysis of environmental data to support Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 carbon reporting

Coordinate data collection and transformation for annual carbon footprinting and SECR reporting

Coordinate Packaging EPR data collection and validation from suppliers and internal stakeholders

Manage WEEE, Batteries and wider Producer Responsibility compliance activities

Oversee waste management reporting, maintaining accurate records and identifying opportunities for improvement

Maintain environmental compliance records and support the continual improvement of our ISO 14001 Environmental Management System

Coordinate internal audits, corrective actions and management review information

Maintain the environmental legal register and monitor changes in environmental legislation

Support supplier sustainability due diligence, including environmental and ESG questionnaires

Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to obtain information, resolve issues and improve data quality

Support wider sustainability and environmental compliance projects across the Group as required
You'll have a good standard of education with a strong analytical approach and excellent attention to detail.
Proven experience in an environmental or sustainability role is essential. You'll be confident working independently, managing multiple priorities and using your own initiative to overcome challenges.
Educated to degree level ideally in Environmental Management, Sustainability, Geography or a related discipline would be advantageous, candidates from other disciplines will be considered where they can demonstrate the relevant environmental knowledge, analytical capability and professional experience.
You'll be an ISEP member, Associate grade or higher.
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills are essential, with the ability to confidently manipulate, analyse and report on large and complex datasets.
You'll be able to demonstrate evidence of strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, think laterally and implement practical solutions to overcome obstacles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. You'll be comfortable building relationships across the business, obtaining information from a wide range of stakeholders and communicating technical information clearly.
Experience of carbon accounting, SECR reporting, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, Packaging EPR, WEEE, waste management and environmental legislation would be advantageous.
