SEN ad-hoc nanny Needed URGENTLY in Oxfordshire
Family Profile:Location: Besselsleigh, Oxfordshire
Household: Both parents work from home (separate home offices)
Two children requiring care: one boy with ASD (primary focus), one neurotypical girl, age 7 One elderly, friendly small dog, generally stays in a home office during the day
Childcare needed for following dates:
3rd and 4th September 12noon to 5pm
7th to 11th September 1pm to 5pm.
October half term (23rd October to 2nd November, excluding the weekend)
Duties
Primary childcare
Meal prep for children (household eats meat,must be comfortable preparing it)
Light laundry, end-of-day playroom tidy
Non-Negotiables:
Valid UK driving licence, required Own car strongly preferred
Non-smoker Comfortable around a resident dog
Minimum 2 years’ SEND experience (lived or professional)
Flexibility
Care Style / Preferences
Child-led, unstructured play preferred; outdoor time is strongly favoured
Comfortable with children’s independent play nearby (e.g. next door) while nanny works one-on-one with the SEND child
Sensory tools and de-escalation strategies used with the SEND child (movement-based regulation, distraction/humour, comfort object, sensory chew).
Awareness needed around frustration-related behaviours
Nannie’s must have : clean DBS on updated service, Paediatric First Aid and be able to confirm 2 references from previous roles.
