The Role
We are looking for an ambitious, hands-on Chef who has found their feet in the kitchen and is ready for more responsibility. You’ve mastered the basics, and now you want to own your section. In this role, you won't just be peeling spuds—you'll be running the grill, frying our signature chicken, and ensuring our sauces are prepped to perfection.
Key Responsibilities
- Station Ownership: Take charge of the grill and fryer sections, ensuring every burger is cooked to spec and every wing is perfectly crisp.
- Independent Prep: Manage your own mise-en-place. You’ll be responsible for making house sauces, portioning meats, and ensuring your station is stocked for service.
- Service Speed: Work independently during lunch or mid-week shifts, maintaining fast ticket times without sacrificing quality.
- Kitchen Standards: Maintain a 5-star hygiene standard. You’ll handle stock rotation (FIFO), labeling, and temperature logs with zero reminders.
- Team Contribution: Support the senior team during high-volume periods and help keep the kitchen atmosphere positive and professional.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Track Record: At least 1–2 years in a professional kitchen (preferably a busy pub or fast-casual environment).
- Technical Skill: Solid knife skills and confidence with a commercial grill and deep-fat fryer.
- The "Independent" Spark: You’re someone who sees a job that needs doing (like a sauce running low) and does it without being asked.
- Local Reliability: You’re based in the Ringwood/New Forest area and have a dependable way to get to work for evening and weekend shifts.
- Qualifications: Level 2 Food Hygiene is essential. NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery is a big bonus.
