We are looking for a reliable, proactive and hands-on Assistant Manager to support the daily running of the business.
This is not a role where you will only supervise others. We have a small team, so the Assistant Manager is expected to help with all areas of the café, including customer service, coffee preparation, cooking, cleaning, stock control, staff supervision and administration.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working in a café, coffee shop, restaurant or similar hospitality environment.
- Has experience as an Assistant Manager, Supervisor, Shift Leader or experienced senior team member.
- Is comfortable preparing food and working with coffee.
- Is willing to help with every part of the café, including cooking and cleaning.
- Can confidently supervise staff and lead a shift.
- Is organised and able to manage stock, deliveries and supplier orders.
- Can stay calm and make decisions during busy periods.
- Takes responsibility and does not wait to be told about every task.
- Notices problems and takes action to solve them.
- Is reliable, punctual and flexible.
- Is available to work early mornings, weekends and bank holidays when scheduled.
- Has the right to work in the UK.
What You'll Do
- Support the Café Manager with the daily operation of the café.
- Leading shifts and making sure the café runs smoothly throughout the day.
- Prepare high-quality coffee, drinks and food.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Motivate and support the team during busy service periods.
- Assist with staff training and onboarding.
- Help manage stock levels, deliveries and supplier orders.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and presentation.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Resolve customer queries professionally.
- Support administrative tasks including stock control, rota planning, reporting and operational improvements.
- Look for opportunities to improve sales, customer experience and overall café performance.
Pay: £13.00 per hour
