About the role:
Justteachers are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a supportive Secondary school near Spalding, who are seeking a committed Year 7 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term supply basis, starting in September 2026.
This school places a strong emphasis on supporting pupils during their transition from primary to secondary education. Staff work collaboratively to ensure Year 7 pupils feel confident, settled, and supported both academically and emotionally as they begin the next stage of their learning journey.
Hours - Full Time (8.20am-3.30pm Monday to Friday, term time only)
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Year 7 pupils in lessons across the curriculum
- Provide targeted support to pupils who require additional guidance during transition
- Assist pupils with organisation, routines, and independence skills
- Work with small groups or individuals to reinforce learning and understanding
- Support behaviour and engagement in line with school expectations
- Assist teaching staff with classroom organisation and resources
- Monitor pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff and pastoral teams
Pre-requisites:
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
- A calm, patient, and approachable manner
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Confidence working with pupils of varying abilities and needs
- Two recent education based references
