Housing Administration Officer – Manchester

We’re working with a growing housing provider in Manchester who is looking to recruit an experienced Housing Administration Officer to support its housing and income function.
This is a busy, varied role and would suit someone who has worked within social housing, supported housing, income, benefits, tenancy management or a similar administrative environment.
The Role
Working closely with the wider housing and income team, you will help ensure resident accounts, housing records and benefit information are accurate and up to date.
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing day-to-day administrative support to the housing and income teams
- Maintaining accurate resident, tenancy and property records
- Supporting the management of rent accounts and income information
- Assisting with Housing Benefit and Universal Credit queries
- Liaising with residents regarding rent, payments and outstanding information
- Communicating with Local Authorities and external agencies
- Monitoring outstanding actions and ensuring information is followed up
- Processing correspondence, documentation and changes to resident records
- Producing reports and maintaining spreadsheets and internal systems
- Supporting the wider team with general housing management administration
What We’re Looking For
We’re particularly interested in people with experience within housing, income, benefits or property administration, although strong transferable experience will also be considered.
You will need:
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- Confidence dealing with residents and external organisations
- Good attention to detail
- Experience working with databases, Excel and administrative systems
- The ability to manage a busy workload and competing priorities
- A professional but approachable communication style
- An understanding of rent, Housing Benefit or Universal Credit would be advantageous
- Social housing or supported housing experience would be beneficial
