At Blanchflower we’re a friendly, fast-paced café known for great coffee, fresh food and warm service. We’re looking for a hands-on Duty Manager to help lead the team on shift, keep service running smoothly, maintain cleanliness and food safety standards, and make sure every guest leaves happy. We are looking for an individual with previous supervisor or management experience who will work closely alongside the General Manager.

Blanchflower Kitchen and Bakery currently have 4 locations; Trafford Centre, Altrincham, Sale and Longford Park, Stretford.
We pride ourselves on making every item in-house and ourselves, from the sourdough alongside the soup to the vanilla syrup inside the coffee.
Our Trafford Centre location is the perfect showcase of Blanchflower's best, with bakery items and speciality coffee being the forefront of our site.
Duties
- Lead and support the team on shift, motivating them and leading by example.
- Open/close the site.
- Deliver great service, dealing with customer requests and complaints with professionalism.
- Assist with stock controls and daily ordering.
- Maintain high cleanliness and food safety standards, overseeing paperwork to ensure it is kept up to date and accurate.
- Ensure food and drink is always of the highest quality and presentation.
- Deal with on shift/on site HR issues supported by the General Manager.
- Communicate effectively with other sites and supervisors.
- Helping onboard new hires, training and guiding them as they join the small team.
Requirements
- Proven strong management or supervisory experience, preferably in a cafe/coffee shop environment or similar.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and coach a diverse team.
- Experience working in speciality coffee is preferred but training will be given.
- Strong people skills, being confident, approachable and able to give clear direction.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle complaints and resolve conflicts efficiently.
- Ability to maintain calm under pressure in a high-volume cafe environment.
- Flexibility - available to work weekdays, weekends and holiday periods.
Pay: £13.40-£13.60 per hour
