About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor / Site Manager to oversee various projects ranging from installation of steelwork to various structures to new steelwork and cladding on new-build portal frame buildings across industrial and commercial sectors.
This is a hands-on site leadership role, responsible for day-to-day site control, ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme, and to specification. You will work closely with contracts management, design teams, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality structures from groundworks handover through to envelope completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day supervision of steel erection and cladding works
- Management of erection sequences, lifting plans, and temporary works
- Coordination of steel erectors, cladding installers, MEWPs, and cranes
- Ensuring works comply with:
- Structural drawings and specifications
- Method statements and risk assessments
- H&S legislation and site rules
- Liaison with:
- Principal Contractor / Client representatives
- Engineers and designers
- Logistics, craneage, and transport providers
- Quality control and sign-off of works (bolting, alignment, plumb, cladding tolerances)
- Maintaining site records (RAMS briefings, inductions, inspections)
- Driving programme and resolving site issues proactively
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience supervising portal frame steel erection
- Strong background in cladding systems, including:
- Composite panels
- Built-up systems
- Roof and wall installations
- Ability to read and interpret structural and cladding drawings
- Experience managing crane lifts and MEWP operations
- Strong understanding of construction H&S requirements
- Confident site leadership and communication skills
Qualifications (Essential / Preferred)
Essential
- SMSTS or SSSTS
- NVQ Level 6 - Black CSCS Card
- First Aid 3 Day
- 10 Year plus working in structures
Preferred
- Appointed Person / Lift Supervisor
- Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS)
- IPAF / PASMA
- Experience working under CDM Regulations
- IOSH
