Are you an applications scientist with strong laboratory expertise and hands-on experience developing laboratory automation?
We are looking for an Applications Scientist to join our EMEA Regional Marketing team. This is a customer-facing technical role that combines applications science, laboratory automation and commercial insight, helping customers and our commercial teams translate laboratory challenges into effective, automated workflows.
You will develop and optimise applications, programme and build automated workflows, generate application data and create technical content that supports both customer needs and our EMEA marketing strategy.
The role will have a particular focus on bioanalysis, pharmaceutical and CRO workflows, automated sample preparation, liquid handling and plate-based applications.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in helping shape how we respond to evolving customer and market needs across EMEA.
Develop, programme, optimise and troubleshoot automated laboratory workflows and applications.
Translate manual laboratory and sample preparation processes into robust and reproducible automated workflows.
Develop and optimise applications relevant to bioanalysis, pharmaceutical, CRO and other analytical laboratory workflows.
Generate application data and technical evidence to demonstrate workflow performance, robustness, reproducibility and customer value.
Support customer demonstrations, proof-of-concept activities, technical evaluations and workflow implementation.
Work alongside Sales to understand customer requirements and develop practical technical solutions.
Provide technical input into sales opportunities and identify opportunities to increase adoption of automation.
Develop application notes, workflow guides, presentations, webinars and other technical content to support commercial and marketing activity.
Identify emerging market trends, customer needs and new application opportunities and translate these into actionable market insight.
Support product launches and provide technical input into EMEA marketing campaigns and activities.
Work with Product Management, R&D and global Applications teams to provide voice-of-customer insight and inform future product and application development.
Build and share automation and applications expertise across the EMEA organisation.
We are looking for someone who combines scientific applications expertise with hands-on automation capability.
You will ideally have:
A degree or advanced degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Significant practical experience in laboratory applications, automation, automated liquid handling and/or laboratory workflow development.
Demonstrable experience developing, programming, scripting and troubleshooting automated laboratory methods or workflows.
Strong understanding of sample preparation, liquid handling and plate-based laboratory workflows.
Experience developing, optimising and troubleshooting laboratory or analytical methods.
Strong customer focus, with the ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into practical solutions.
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to present technical information to customers and commercial and technical colleagues.
A commercially minded approach and an interest in understanding market trends and customer needs.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly across the EMEA region.
