Responsibilities
- The candidate’s primary responsibility is the management of TSC’s subsea robotic tooling and NDT systems required for its offshore campaigns. This includes testing, fault finding, repairing, calibration and fabrication of equipment and parts, as well as ordering spares, reporting problems and improvements to engineers.
- General assembly of prototype tooling from engineering drawings, logging issues and faults and implementing fixes.
- Travel may be required within the UK, to our Norway offices and other locations around the world, for training purposes, to support local operations and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) at client sites.
- Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.
- Carry out work in accordance with company Health, Safety and Quality systems.
- Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the integrated management Systems of the company
- Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the conscious improvement of the environment
Skills and Competence Requirements
- Candidate must have a basic engineering- and/or science-based background to GCSE-level or equivalent.
- Practical experience of working with tools to assemble and disassemble mechanical and electrical systems is desirable. A willingness to learn and get hands dirty is essential for maintaining NDT and robotic tooling.
- Experience with the general operations of a warehouse and its staff, including handling the recording and maintaining of inventory.
- Experience with the use of workshop tools including drill presses, hydraulic benders, lathe, mill, TIG welding would be beneficial (training will be provided).
- Experience with MS Office, especially WORD and EXCEL with a view to writing equipment packing lists, fault reports, assembly instructions would be beneficial
- Attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision
