Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in various care settings. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire to improve the lives of others, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism. This role involves delivering personalised care to promote independence, dignity, and well-being for clients across assisted living, home care, nursing homes, or hospice environments.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Administer medication in accordance with prescribed instructions
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Monitor and report on clients' health status and behaviour changes
- Provide specialised care for individuals with Alzheimer's or dementia
- Support with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Assist with transportation needs, including driving clients to appointments or outings
- Implement behaviour management strategies to ensure safety and comfort
- Respond promptly to emergencies, applying first aid when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any incidents
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care, dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and senior care preferred
- Certification in first aid is advantageous
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when required
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties
- Strong communication skills with an empathetic approach towards clients of all ages, including children and elderly individuals
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; some roles may involve evening or weekend work depending on the setting
- A caring attitude with a commitment to providing respectful and dignified support at all times
Pay: £12.71-£12.72 per hour
