Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organised Yard Manager to oversee the daily operations of our yard and logistics processes. This energetic leader will ensure smooth transportation, storage, and distribution activities while maintaining safety standards and optimizing process efficiencies. The ideal candidate will have a passion for continuous improvement, strong supervisory skills, and experience managing complex logistics within a warehouse or yard environment.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day to day operations of the yard, providing excellent standards of service, efficiency and performance
- Organisation of transport deliveries to and from the site
- Lead the HGV drivers and ensure that all aspects of their role are carried out in line with the Transport standards
- Ensure the HGV vehicles are checked and comply with the Transport standards
- Recording movements of the Mastclimbing or Hoist machines/equipment on the Syrinx system (pick lists, drive units, Hoists, delivery and collections, and assigning drivers)
- Responsible for Managing Yard operations, motivating and coaching yard operatives and HGV Drivers
- Completing runs to the holding yard based in Hockliffe, ensuring the yard is kept to a high standard, monitoring stock levels, and transferring stock between yards.
- Updating the Transport planner according to maintenance records.
- Assess training needs where required for the yard team, including new employees, and supply
- Ensuring company compliance with all yard policies, legislations, and procedures, as well as taking responsibility for health and safety issues of the yard
- Ensuring housekeeping is well maintained, including excellent external presentation of our yard
- Ensure pick lists are correct and delivered on time, providing top-quality customer service
- Continuously learning, developing and assisting the Transport side of the business.
- Reviewing pre site minutes for accessibility of site surroundings.
- Monitoring all stock levels and ordering when appropriate.
- Generating reports with values for works outside of mastclimbers.
- Working along side operations manager for the mast climbers, hoist and Canti deck department ensure transport and lifting requirements are met.
- Supervise yard forklift operations and ensure all equipment is stored and stacked safely
- Responsible for Yard layout and stock management

Pay: From £40,000.00 per year
