The role
We wish to recruit a Knowledge Exchange Fellow to work in the ACCESS project until January 2027. The post holder will be based at the University of Surrey.
ACCESS is an exciting £6.25m five-year climate and environment social science project funded by ERSC. It is led by director Prof Patrick Devine-Wright and co-director Prof Birgitta Gatersleben at the University of Surrey who are working alongside wider team that includes the universities of Bath, Leeds and Sussex and the Natural Environment Social Research Network, and devolved governments.
ACCESS will map, assess and learn from current environmental social science expertise; empower environmental social scientists with the knowledge and skills required to support policy or institutional changes; horizon scan future research pathways and respond with agility to stakeholder evidence needs; and create a world-class data and information hub to enable innovative solutions.
About you
The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the Surrey ACCESS team in writing up reports and papers based on existing and completed projects carried out during the project. You will be primarily responsible for delivering outcomes related to work package 1 which aims to map, assess and learn from current environmental social science expertise and build a toolkit for successful interdisciplinary environmental social science in research, policy and practice.
We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow with a PhD in Environmental Psychology science or a related discipline. The successful candidate must have experience in working in interdisciplinary applied settings. They will have experience in working with non-academic stakeholders and communicating scientific knowledge to different non-academic stakeholders such as local and natural policy, organisations, the media and business.
