About the Role
Are you a proven procurement professional looking for a true "greenfield" opportunity? We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager with 5 years of end-to-end sourcing expertise to design, build, and deliver a modern, robust procurement function from the ground up.
In this newly created role, you will take full ownership of a ~£10m annual spend portfolio across materials, specialist services, facilities management, and subcontractor labour. You won't just be managing suppliers—you will be establishing our procurement strategy, designing and embedding processes, and directly impacting our bottom line with measurable cost savings and commercial value.
Key Responsibilities
- Build the Function: Design, implement, and embed robust procurement policies, governance, and end-to-end sourcing processes from scratch.
- Spend Ownership: Take strategic control of ~£10m annual spend across sub-contractor labour, raw materials, direct and indirect services.
- Deliver Value & ROI: Identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate framework agreements, and track savings against agreed targets to demonstrate clear ROI.
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Rationalise our existing supply base, build strategic supplier partnerships, and establish SLAs/KPIs to ensure high performance and quality.
- Risk & Compliance: Audit supply chain risk, ensure contract compliance, and negotiate terms to protect company commercial interests.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive procurement/sourcing experience, ideally within construction, manufacturing, or commercial services.
- Track Record: Proven ability to build or transform a procurement function and a track record of delivering measurable cost savings.
- Subcontractor & Services Expertise: Substantial experience procuring and managing subcontractor labour alongside direct materials and indirect services.
- Tender Process: Experience on running tender process and understanding tender frameworks.
- Qualifications: MCIPS or equivalent professional commercial qualification is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong contract negotiation skills, commercial acumen, data analysis capability, and excellent stakeholder management.
What We Offer
- Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + Benefits (Dependent on Experience)
