Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and proactive Evening Sales Assistant to join our retail team. This role involves engaging with customers, providing excellent service and wrapping fudge into bags and boxes during evening hours. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, organisational abilities, and a passion for delivering a positive shopping experience. They will also be a key holder in order to lock up the shop after trade. Must be self motivated to ensure standards and work requirements are met.
Must be fully available to work throughout the school Summer holidays.
Hours: Wednesday to Sunday 5.30pm to 9.30pm (5 x 4 hours shifts a week - 20 hours total)
A 6 week contract for evenings, which if successful could lead on to an extension after that to work during the day through to the end of September.
Must be 18 years old or over due to responsibility of locking up shop.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly upon arrival and assist them
- Provide product information and recommend items based on customer needs
- Maintain visual merchandising standards to ensure attractive product displays
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
- Ensure the store remains clean, tidy, and welcoming throughout the shift
- Wrap the required amount of fudge into bags and boxes to standard
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers
- Organised with excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Good organisational skills to maintain neat displays and stock areas
- A friendly attitude with a proactive approach to customer engagement
- Reliable with good organisational skills to manage time effectively during evening shifts
