Job Overview
USP Steels is looking to appoint a detail-oriented Quality Manager to help maintain and enhance the standards our business is known for.
This position focuses on overseeing material quality, ensuring products align with internal specifications as well as customer expectations. The successful candidate will handle supplier-related quality issues, assess stock condition, and work collaboratively with internal teams to address any concerns.
Main Duties
- Inspect incoming materials and existing inventory, with a particular focus on steel coils, to verify they meet required standards.
- Handle quality-related claims with mills and external suppliers, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up.
- Detect and record defects, inconsistencies, or non-compliance issues, escalating where necessary.
- Liaise with commercial and operational departments to provide updates and guidance on product quality.
- Keep thorough documentation of inspections, testing results, and claim progress.
About You
- Experience in quality assurance, inspection, or materials evaluation.
- Strong attention to detail with good organisational and reporting abilities.
- Able to manage workload independently and prioritise multiple responsibilities.
- Previous exposure to the steel industry is a plus.
- Commercial awareness or experience in a business-facing role would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with ISO standards or comparable quality systems is preferred.
This role will be based at our new site on Pedmore Road, Dudley. Interviews may be held at Gibbons Industrial Park, Kingswinford or Pedmore Road, Dudley.
