Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for both restaurant diners and hotel guests
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, providing detailed descriptions of menu items including Indian specialties
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Assist in food preparation and ensure food safety standards are strictly followed
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and maximize sales opportunities
- Manage table settings, clear dishes, and maintain cleanliness throughout service
- Provide excellent guest service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring overall satisfaction
- Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks when needed
- Manage time efficiently during busy periods to serve all guests promptly and courteously
Skills
- Strong background in hospitality with previous restaurant experience preferred
- Knowledge of Indian cuisine or willingness to learn about traditional dishes
- Experience in serving, food safety protocols, and basic food preparation techniques
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for billing and order management
- Kitchen experience or culinary background is a plus for understanding food handling standards
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during peak hours
- Exceptional guest service skills with a friendly, positive attitude
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest experience and increase revenue
