Peripatetic Deputy Manager
Multi-site role across our care homes in Preston, Wigan & Chester
We are seeking an ambitious, motivated and compassionate care professional to join our leadership team as a Peripatetic Deputy Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead or Unit Manager looking to expand their operational and leadership experience across multiple care home settings.
Working closely with experienced Home Managers and senior leaders, you will provide flexible management support across our services while gaining the operational exposure, leadership experience and regulatory knowledge needed to progress into future senior leadership opportunities within the group.
This developmental role offers exposure to all aspects of care home leadership, including operational management, quality assurance, compliance, workforce development, occupancy and service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Support the day-to-day management of homes across the group
- Provide interim management support during periods of leave, absence or service transition
- Promote a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture aligned with company values
- Support homes in delivering high-quality, person-centred care
- Assist with staffing, dependency management, occupancy and operational performance
Quality & Compliance
- Support compliance audits, governance processes and improvement plans
- Maintain inspection readiness in line with regulatory requirements
- Identify areas for improvement and support the delivery of quality initiatives
- Promote best practice in safeguarding, medication management, care planning, infection control, and health & safety
People Leadership
- Support, mentor and coach staff teams across multiple services
- Work alongside Home Managers to support staff supervision, induction and performance management
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding and retention initiatives
- Encourage a culture of accountability, learning and continuous professional development
Group & Service Development
- Support operational projects and service improvement initiatives across the group
- Work collaboratively with the wider team, including HR, Quality and Operations
- Assist with the implementation, embedding and ongoing development of new systems and operational processes across the group
- Promote consistency, best practice and shared learning across all homes
Essential Requirements
- Previous leadership experience within a UK care home setting (e.g. Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead or Unit Manager)
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks
- Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills
- Passion for delivering outstanding person-centred care
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or willingness to work towards)
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between services
Desirable Requirements
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
