Hydraulic Hose Engineer

Are you an experienced Hydraulic Hose Engineer looking for a hands-on role where your skills will make a real difference? We’re looking for a practical, reliable and safety-focused engineer to support the manufacture, installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of hydraulic hoses for our extensive fleet.
What you’ll be doing
- Manufacture and assemble hydraulic hoses to required specifications.
- Inspect, diagnose and replace damaged or worn hydraulic hoses and fittings.
- Carry out hydraulic hose repairs and installations within the workshop and at operational sites
- Respond to plant breakdowns and attend sites to provide emergency hose repair services when required.
- Maintain stock levels of hydraulic hoses, fittings, couplings and associated consumables
- Monitor inventory and place replenishment requests to ensure adequate stock availability
- Maintain accurate stock records and assist with stock audits.
- Ensure all hydraulic repairs are completed to a high standard and in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct inspections of hydraulic systems to identify potential issues before failure occurs.
- Assist workshop personnel with general plant maintenance, servicing and repairs as required.
- Support the maintenance and repair of piling rigs, excavators, cranes, generators and other plant equipment.
- Complete all documentation relating to repairs, inspections and stock movements.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Adhere to company health, safety and environmental procedures at all times.
- Participate in on-call or out-of-hours breakdown support when required.
- Conduct self in a way that reflect and promotes the Van Elle company values.
- Understand and act in accordance with Van Elle’s policies and procedures
- Any other tasks that you may reasonably be required to undertake.
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience working with hydraulic hoses and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to manufacture and fit hydraulic hoses.
- Good understanding of hydraulic components, fittings and pipework.
- Experience working on construction, plant or heavy equipment.
- Ability to diagnose hydraulic faults and carry out effective repairs.
- Forklift truck licence
- Plant maintenance qualifications or relevant engineering qualification
- Good organisational and stock management skills.
- Strong commitment to health and safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Other Requirements:
- Eligible to work and live in the UK.
- Flexibility to travel in the UK.
- A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK
