The Thorntoun Group is expanding and we are looking for kind, compassionate Care Assistants to join our dedicated care and support team at our homes in Hurlford & Crosshouse.
Torrance Lodge Care Home is an 88-bed care home & Thorntoun Estate Nursing home is an 78-bed care home, providing high-quality care in a welcoming and supportive environment.
We are recruiting full-time and part-time Care Assistants for day and night shifts.
About the Role
As a Care Assistant, your role will be varied and rewarding. You will support residents with:
- Personal care, including washing, dressing, and hygiene
- Eating and drinking
- Meaningful activities and social engagement
- Promoting independence and inclusion in daily life
- Building positive relationships with residents and their families
- Delivering person-centred care in line with the Health and Social Care Standards for Scotland
Our homes provide:
- Residential care
- Nursing care for residents with more complex medical needs
- Respite care
About You

- Have some knowledge of the challenges faced by people living with dementia
Previous care experience or a social care qualification is desirable but not essential. If you have the right values and attitude, full training and support will be provided.
Training & Development
- Excellent learning, development, and support opportunities
- Online learning and practical skills training
- Opportunity to work towards SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
- Thorntoun Group is an accredited SVQ 2 and 3 training provider
Working Hours
- 12-hour shifts
- Day and night shifts available
- Full-time and part-time positions
