Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their vehicle maintenance needs are understood and efficiently managed. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your mechanical knowledge and excellent communication skills within a professional environment. The Service Advisor will be responsible for coordinating MOT appointments and repairs alongside providing guided technical advice, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and establish rapport to understand their vehicle requirements.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding recommended repairs, maintenance, and service options via telephone, email and social media platforms.
- Prepare detailed service orders, including necessary parts and labour estimates.
- Liaise with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs and services.
- Keep customers informed about the progress of their vehicle’s service and address any additional concerns or questions.
- Proactively offer additional services or maintenance where and when appropriate, based on the vehicle condition and the customers needs.
- Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions, service history, and work performed.
- Ensure the customer reception area and your shared workspace is a welcoming organised enviroment.
- Follow health and safety protocols to create a safe working environment for staff and customers.
Experience
- Previous experience in a customer service role within the automotive industry is preferred but not essential.
- Mechanical knowledge is highly desirable to facilitate effective communication with technicians and customers alike.
- Basic IT skills are essential for managing bookings via our TechMan CRM tool.
- Excellent organisational skills combined with strong interpersonal abilities are essential for success in this role.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail is required.
