Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Female Brain Injury Buddy Support Workers to provide personalised companionship and support to an individual living with a brain injury. We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available.
This is a rewarding role focused on promoting independence, confidence, wellbeing, and community participation rather than providing personal care. You will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to support the client in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
Our client lives in Shrewsbury, and you will provide 1:1 support tailored to his individual needs. The role involves helping him develop daily structure, build independence, respect personal boundaries, and engage in meaningful activities within the community.
Due to the client's specific needs, we are seeking a female support worker who holds a full UK driving licence, as you will be required to drive the client's vehicle to support him in accessing community activities.
We are looking for someone who will be able to do 2 x 24 hour shifts per week and 1 x 24 hour shifts per week.
Hours:
Mon – Fri 24h shifts 08:00 – 08:00.
Pay:
Mon – Fri £381.60 per shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalised companionship and emotional support, encouraging confidence and independence.
- Support the client to access community activities, hobbies, and social opportunities.
- Assist with light daily living tasks, including meal preparation and encouraging healthy routines.
- Promote the development and maintenance of independent living skills and positive behavioural strategies.
- Observe and report any changes in the client's wellbeing or presentation to the appropriate professionals.
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to support rehabilitation goals.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with company policies.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and person-centred environment at all times.
About You
- Previous experience supporting individuals with a brain injury, neurological condition is desirable.
- Understanding of person-centred care, positive behaviour support, and rehabilitation principles.
- Knowledge of first aid is desirable.
- Full UK driving licence with confidence driving the client's vehicle.
- Compassionate, patient, reliable, and organised.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to build professional, trusting relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
