Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting. This position requires effective communication skills and the ability to follow care plans meticulously, ensuring that each individual's needs are met with dignity and respect. A driving licence is preferred for this role, as it may involve transporting residents to appointments or activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Support residents in maintaining their independence while providing necessary assistance.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the care team to ensure continuity of care.
- Follow individual care plans accurately and report any changes in residents' conditions to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in care practices.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and record-keeping related to resident care.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential.
- Proficient in English with strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being capable of working independently when required.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties.
- Familiarity with creating or following care plans is beneficial.
