About the role
A large, inclusive, and forward-thinking primary school in Chesterfield is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our Key Stage 1 team, supporting pupils in a mixed-ability Year 1/2 class.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of young children. You will play an integral role in helping pupils flourish academically, socially, and emotionally within a welcoming, supportive, and nurturing school community.
Working closely with an experienced class teacher, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning, supporting pupils through whole-class activities, targeted small-group interventions, and one-to-one support. You will help create an inclusive learning environment where every child, regardless of ability or background, feels valued, motivated, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will be proactive, caring, and committed to supporting children's development, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents. A genuine enthusiasm for education and a desire to inspire confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning are essential.
Requirements
Salary is dependent on experience, qualifications and training. All successful applicants will:
- Experience in working with children in a school or specialist setting
- A nurturing, patient and consistent approach
- Have referenceable experience working in a school setting.
- Be passionate about education, with a desire to help young people thrive.
- Be an excellent communicator with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ideally hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to vehicle.
