General Builder / Roofer – Long-Term Local Work
£35,000 per year | Weekly Pay | Monday–Friday | Local Work Only
We’re a well-established local garage specialist based in Thornton-Cleveleys, and we’re looking for an experienced General Builder / Roofer to join our team.
This is a long-term, full-time position for someone who is confident carrying out garage roofing work, concrete bases, groundwork and brick/block work, and who can take responsibility for jobs from start to finish.
You’ll work across Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre, generally within around 15 miles of our base. There is no working away, no overnight stays and no weekend work.
About the Role
You’ll work on a wide range of residential garage projects, including:
- Replacing and repairing garage roofs
- Flat roofing and pitched roofing works
- Preparing and laying concrete garage bases
- Groundwork, drainage and flagging
- Brick and block work
- Garage repairs, alterations and refurbishments
- Garage demolitions and rebuilds
- Installing windows and doors
- Fascia, soffits and guttering
- General building work associated with brick and concrete sectional garages
You’ll often be working independently with a labourer and will be responsible for making sure jobs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
You’ll work from clear job sheets and use a smartphone for simple checklists, job updates and before-and-after photographs.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in general building and roofing
- Confident carrying out concrete bases, groundwork and brick/block work
- Able to complete roofing jobs to a high standard
- Able to run your own jobs and take responsibility for workmanship and completion
- Comfortable supervising and working alongside a labourer
- Full UK driving licence and confident driving a company van
- Reliable, punctual and well organised
- Professional and polite when dealing with customers
- Good standards of site cleanliness and housekeeping
- Physically capable of manual and outdoor work
- Own basic hand tools and small power tools preferred
- Right to work in the UK
- CSCS card not required
Experience with garage roofs, flat roofing, brickwork, groundwork or concrete bases would be particularly valuable.
